Members of the Free Women's Congress (Kongreya Jinên Azad, KJA) gathered in front of the KJA headquarters in Amed to protest the latest wave of state repression and attacks and the detainment of KJA Spokeswoman Ayla Akat Ata.
Police battered the women yet before their demonstration began, and attempted to detain them.
The demonstration is being joined by DTK (Democratic Society Congress) co-chair Leyla Güven, DBP (Democratic Regions' Party) co-chair Sebahat Tuncel, female co-mayors of municipalities in Amed, Peace Mothers and hundreds of women.
