Photos of murdered women in the sky

Purple and white balloons with photographs of the murdered women were flown in Mardin.

Members of the Free Women’s Movement (TJA) and Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Women's Council continue their actions and activities within the scope of the "Em Xwe Diparêzin" [We Defend Ourselves] campaign and the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, November 25. Gathering in the central Artuklu district, women flew balloons with photographs of women murdered by men.

Women hanging the photos on the ends of purple and white balloons left the balloons to the sky.

'WE WILL BRING THEM TO ACCOUNT'

Speaking at the protest, TJA activist Eylem Amak remarked that women will remain active every day so that "no more woman is murdered and raped", adding: “We are here today to commemorate these women and to make sure that what happened is not repeated. We will continue to bring the murderers to account. We have not forgotten them and will always remember.”
