Fehime Turan from the Peace Mothers Initiative in İzmir province has passed away on Friday. The 59-year-old woman had been receiving cancer treatment for two years.

Turan, who lost her life at home, was laid to rest at the Doğançay Cemetery. The funeral was attended only by few family members due to the curfew and other measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

Behiye Yalçın on behalf of the Peace Mothers Initiative in İzmir expressed their sorrow for not being able to attend Turan’s funeral and offered their condolences to her family and relatives.
