NATIONAL INTEREST

An interview with the Democratic Union Party (PYD) Co-Presidential Council Member Foza Yusif over the fate of the Syrian war and many other topics are included in the newspaper’s February issue.

Foza Yusif, who predicts that the crisis and war in the region will deepen and continue, says that the most important strategy of the Kurds in the 21st century is the Democratic Nation Project. Reminding that Erdogan has built his policy and strategy basing on the denial of status for Kurds anywhere, the Kurdish politician warned that the KDP's partnership with the Turkish state jeopardizes the future of all Kurds. Stating that national interests should be above all else, Foza Yusif called on Kurdish women to play a constructive role in the issue of national unity without being overshadowed by the parties they work for.

Female Kurdish politicians, intellectuals and writers who shared their views on the vitality of national unity with the newspaper also state that the only way to protect Kurdistan is unity.

WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE DUHOK CAMPS BESIEGED BY THE KDP?

Journalist Berîtan Zagros, on the other hand, calls attention to the Duhok refugee camps, where Yazidi women have recently committed suicides. Stating that the refugees in the camps are strictly denied connection with the outside and are treated as prisoners, Berîtan Zagros points out that the KDP, which receives financial funds for the camps from the relevant institutions, tests the refugees with hunger and directs young women to different networks with the promise of taking them abroad.

WOMEN PROSECUTE ERDOĞAN!

Newaya Jin this month also covers the views of the world women's movements regarding the "100 Reasons to Prosecute the Dictator" campaign launched by TJK-E (Kurdish Women's Movement in Europe) on November 25. Women activists from Turkey to Germany, from Mexico to Colombia and Argentina organized in local units call for an urgent trial of the dictator Erdoğan.
