Final hearing of Narin Gezgör’s case was held. Gezgör was taken into custody on June 8 within the scope of the Rosa Women's Association investigation conducted by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and was later released pending trial. She was accused of "being a member of an illegal organization".
While Gezgör was absent, his lawyers Elif Tirenç Ulaş and Semra Balyan attended the hearing held in Diyarbakır 9th High Criminal Court.
Emphasizing that the testimony of the anonymous witness who made a statement against Gezgör was obtained illegally, the lawyers pointed out that the statements of the anonymous witness lacked a concrete basis and that the anonymous witness was instructed.
The court sentenced Narin Gezgör to 7 years and 6 months in prison.
