MKP member Koç laid to rest in Istanbul

A ceremony was held at Gazi Cemevi in Istanbul's Gazi District for Aysel Koç, a member of the Maoist Communist Party (MKP) who allegedly ended her life in Sincan Women's Closed Prison. CHP provincial and district executives, ESP and Socialist Assembly Federation (SMF) provincial and district executives as well as many activists attended the ceremony.
Women carried the coffin on their shoulders. Koç was buried in the Cebeci Plateau Cemetery in the Habipler District of Istanbul. The police presence was very heavy in the cemetery. Women who attended the funeral chanted slogans like "Jin, Jiyan, Azadi" and "Martyrs of the Revolution are immortal".
The exact cause of death of Aysel Koç will be revealed after the autopsy report.
