Before the demonstration led by TJK-E taking place in front of the EP today with the motto “Women in action for their Leader and their freedom”, the TJK-E committee met with the foreign affairs adviser of the president of the EP.

Before the demonstration led by TJK-E to be held today in front of the EP with the motto “Women in action for their Leader and their Freedom”, a Kurdish women’s committee comprised of TJK-E spokesperson Hinena Erişen, International Kurdish Women’s Movement representative Nursel Kılıç and NAV-BEL Co-chair Arife Soysüren met with Dr. Djamila Chikhi, advisor in foreign affairs to European Parliament President Martin Schultz.

The committee pointed out the genocidal policies and practices of the Turkish state over Kurdistan. Also in this framework, the committee underlined that the crisis in the Middle East, dubbed the World War III, could only be overcome by accepting the Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, still held under heavy isolation conditions, as the fundamental party. The committee said that this isolation aimed to isolate the Kurdish people from the rest of the world and targeted the democratic system that can be built in the region.

The committee said that the Kurdish women were in resistance against the isolation and the genocidal practices in every front. They presented a file on the trustees during the meeting. They requested the EP to exert necessary political pressure and issue the necessary warnings on Turkey.

Adviser in foreign affairs to the EP President Dr. Djamila Chikhi said she will relay the demands of the Kurdish people and Kurdish women to the presidency and concluded by saying that the EP is interested in the Kurds and their struggle and they will make concrete attempts as well.
