Kongra Star Rojava Coordination issued a written statement to mark World Peace Day to be celebrated on 1 September.

The statement underlined that the whole world suffered the pain of wars in which human rights were violated. “Peace is a water that extinguishes the fire of war. Peace is the main breath of life. However, peace can be achieved not only under political conditions but also with the human spirit. Love and peace should be prioritized in life.”

Emphasizing that the opportunity for peoples to live together cannot be created without democracy and peace, the statement continued: “The mentality that creates war and conflict among peoples is the male-dominated mentality. For this reason, all women have the responsibility to struggle in all areas of life to create a society on the foundations of peace and democracy.”
