The band Koma Amara was founded by early 2000 in the mountains of Kurdistan, with the motto “the color of women and mountains”.
The female-only band turns the resistance in Kurdistan’s mountains into art through their voices. On top of their musical efforts, the band also works on ideological and philosophical education. They named the band after the Amara village, dubbed the site of the rebirth.
Band members change occasionally due to conditions of war or sometimes martyrdoms, but the new generations and members continue the efforts.
