The Young Women's Union organized an event at the Baqî Xido Art and Culture Center in Kobanê on the occasion of March 8, International Women's Day. Hundreds of students celebrated March 8 in the new building of Kobanê University.

The Euphrates Canton Women's Coordination visited Şehid Dicle Cemetery of Martyrs to commemorate the martyrs and left carnations on their graves.

Speaking at the cemetery, Sara Xelîl, Co-Chair of the Assembly of Martyrs' Families in the Euphrates Canton, stated, “We are here thanks to the martyrs and Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Each martyr means a separate value and a new life. We are here thanks to our martyrs. We are proving our existence and power more and more every day thanks to our Leader.”

The event at Kobanê University was organized by the Syrian Democratic Student Union. Speaking at the event, university student Firyaz Remo stated that they celebrate their holiday freely thanks to Leader Abdullah Öcalan and said, “On the occasion of March 8, International Women's Day, women stood up against the rulers and proved that they would no longer fall into their trap. Today, we see how Kurdish and world women are getting organized with the ideas and philosophy of Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Members of the YPJ (Women’s Defense Units) are fighting in resistance positions. Today, we are raising our line of struggle with our pen and carrying freedom to the top.”

The Young Women's Union of the Euphrates Canton organized an March 8 event at the Baqî Xido Culture and Art Center. During the event, pictures of martyrs, old folk musical instruments and Leader Abdullah Öcalan's letter were exhibited.

Speaking at the event, Kongra Star Euphrates Canton Coordination member Xunav Xelîl said, “We have reached this level with the ideas and philosophy of Leader Abdullah Öcalan. We wish a happy March 8 to our leader and all women. We will make March 8 the day when Leader Abdullah Öcalan's physical freedom will be achieved.”

The event ended with dance and slogans.
