KJK calls for resistance against the attacks on Kurdistan

KJK stated that they would enhance the resistance with the spirit of Kobanê and called upon everyone to resist the attacks on all four parts of Kurdistan in the streets on November 1 World Kobanê Day.

KJK (Kurdistan Communities of Women) Coordination saluted YPG, YPJ, SDF and the people that defend Rojava Revolution against the gangs that attack Rojava and North Syria to commemorate November 1 World Kobanê Day. KJK said “we commemorate our martyrs that lost their lives during the Kobanê resistance against ISIS gangs, and the m1artyrs that fell during the uprising to defend Rojava Revolution on October 6-8, 2014 in North Kurdistan. We reiterate our commitment to their honorable memories, and promise that we will realize the New Free Life that they defended and died for under any circumstance.”

In its statement, KJK recalled the ISIS siege on Kobanê two years ago and noted that YPG and YPJ forces liberated the city after a 134 day long resistance on January 26, 2015. KJK said that just like how Rojava Revolution has been a women’s revolution, Kobanê resistance was led by YPJ units that fought valiantly and heroically against ISIS gangs. KJK praised the freedom will of woman fighters such as the symbol of Kobanê resistance Arin Mirkan, and saluted Kurdish People’s Leader Abdulah Öcalan that has paved the way for women’s liberation. KJK condemned the İmralı prison system and said that they would continue to resist until Leader Apo is liberated.

‘KOBANÊ RESISTANCE WAS THE RESISTANCE OF FREEDOM AGAINST SLAVERY’

In its statement, KJK Coordination emphasized that the universal meaning of Kobanê resistance was the reason why people from all over the world rose up for Kobanê on November 1, 2014, and Kobanê resistance was the resistance of women’s freedom against slavery. KJK said “Kobanê represents Rojava Revolution based on freedom and equality and ISIS gangs represent the patriarchal mentality that wants to enslave women. Although it was ISIS that attacked Kobanê, the AKP government and the Turkish state were the main actors that were trying to eliminate Rojava Revolution. Erdoğan’s statement “Kobanê is about to fall” exposed this connection, but AKP’s plans were upset when the Kurdish Freedom Movement liberated Kobanê and made historic gains in Rojava. When our movement’s influence reached a global scale, the AKP launched an all-out war against our people, and is now trying to continue its plan to eliminate Rojava Revolution through its attacks on Afrin. However, the AKP should know that it will not suffocate Rojava Revolution and eliminate Kurdish gains, but instead facilitate its own end.”

‘AS WOMEN’S LIBERATION MOVEMENT, WE WILL LEAD IN ALL FOUR PARTS OF KURDISTAN’

KJK stated that although Kobanê has been liberated, Rojava resistance continues in the light of Democratic Confederalism ideals developed as the third path by Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

KJK said “The Democratic Autonomous system in Rojava is a model that can solve the crisis, chaos and war that has been created by capitalist modernist powers in the Middle East over the past 200 years. Women are the leading force of this democratic, ecological and pro-women’s liberation model, and we will fulfill our role and build Democratic Confederalism not only in Rojava but in all parts of Kurdistan. Building our alternative system with our own mobilization is our most important self-defense tool. Therefore, we will enhance our resistance in the streets with the spirit of Kobanê, and call upon everyone to take it to the streets in all parts of Kurdistan on November 1 World Kobanê Day. We salute all women and peoples that show solidarity with Rojava Revolution with our most revolutionary sentiments.”
