Jineolojî is a young journal which has been published in Amed, Bakûrê (Northern) Kurdîstan since 2016. It is an independent theoretical, scientific and political periodic woman journal published every three months.
Jineolojî began its journey on 8th of March 2016 as an outcome of Kurdish women’s freedom struggle. The motto of the journal is "A science developed around women will be the first step towards a truthful sociology". That is; in order to understand society’s reality and to transform it, first we need to understand the truth of women and develop thought and knowledge around women.
A special compilation edition will be published in English this month to "share some discussions made through the journal and make more people to know Jineolojî."
The Kurdish women’s freedom movement develops some theory and practices unique for Kurdistan as well as Middle East region. There are many articles of Kurdish writers on these practices and theories in multiple issues of the journal.
The editorial board writes: "Maybe most of you would like to read them. Yet in this special issue, we mostly present a selection of non-Kurdish writers. Making these sounds hearable is just as important."
The articles collected in the special issue are the result of the collective work of the Jineolojî European committee and the Jineolojî committees in Germany, Spain, Italy, England.
