An investigation was launched against 15 members of the Dersim Women's Platform who protested harassment of women. The women are accused of "resisting the police" and "violating the governorship's ban on actions and activities".
Members of the Dersim Women's Platform wanted to make a press conference on 6 November to protest boss Hüseyin Polat, who harassed women in the workplace in Dersim Atatürk District.
The press conference was prevented by the police.
15 women, who were prevented from walking, were fined 3,150 Turkish lira for violating the social distancing measures.
After the fine, an investigation was opened by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office who accused the women of "resisting the police" and "violating the ban of actions and activities issued by the governorship". Women were called to testify at Dersim Police Department.
