HDP Women's Council launches program for 25 November

HDP Women's Assembly Spokesperson Ayşe Acar Başaran said that on 7 November they will start the program for 25 November in pilot provinces with the slogan "We are fighting against male state violence".

HDP Women's Council Spokesperson Ayşe Acar Başaran held a press conference at the HDP Headquarters, to launch the program organised for 25 November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Making statements regarding the women's agenda, Başaran said that they left the 1 November World Kobanê Day behind and added: “Women wrote history in Kobanê. From Kobanê to Manbij, Serêkaniyê to Hesekê, Raqqa to Shedade, I commemorate thousands of revolutionaries who sacrificed their lives from the Kurdish, Turkish, Arab, Turkmen, Assyrian and Armenian peoples with respect and gratitude. The misogynist ISIS mercenaries that were planning to invade Kobanê faced one of the greatest resistance in history. It should be known that the Kobanê resistance and the revolution that developed after it have gone down in world history as a women's revolution.”

Reminding that today is the 4th anniversary of the coup against the HDP, Başaran continued: “There was a political coup against our party. The AKP-MHP fascist bloc has unlawfully taken hostage thousands of our comrades, including our co-chairs Figen Yüksekdağ and Selahattin Demirtaş, as a result of this coup, 4 years ago today.”

Stating that they will start their program for 25 November in some pilot provinces on 7 November and will be together with women in the streets and areas with the slogan ‘We are fighting against male-state violence’, Başaran said: "We will ask responsibility for the murdered women, we will continue to speak out against the trustee regime. We will come together with women by going from house to house, door to door, neighbourhoods, villages, hamlets, and we will increase our solidarity and organization.”
