HDP calls on women to take to the streets on 25 November

The HDP Women's Assembly announced that on 25 November women would take to streets against the AKP-MHP anti-women and occupation policies.

The HDP Women's Assembly issued a call to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25 November.

'We are all targets'

The statement said: "The attacks against our gains, rights, freedom, our lives, and our presence in the public sphere continue to exacerbate day after day. AKP-MHP male power is attacking women who struggle for women's freedom in an unprecedented way."

The statement added: "The arrogance of men, who recklessly threatens all women' achievements, has finally revealed, all masks have been lifted. Women who want to divorce, who want the right to speak and decide on their own lives, women who want the rights at work, women who question the authority of men, women who oppose the individual or organized manifestations of male domination in politics, at home, on the street, we are targets."

The statement continued: "We fill the streets on 25 November to raise our voices against these anti-women policies implemented by the AKP-MHP male alliance, to organize our rebellion, to protect our lives and rights, and to protect the co-presidency system, which is the reason for the appointment of trustees.

In this period, when the massacres of women are left unpunished and encouraged by the male state, the war policies and crimes against women also increased; we will increase our rebellion together on 25 November at home, at school, at work, in squares, in all areas of life side by side, shoulder to shoulder."
