One of the Shehba Women's Defense Front commanders, Sema Efrîn spoke to ANF concerning the attacks of the Turkish state on Efrîn and the resistance of women.

Commander Efrîn stated the following:

"The daily bombings on the Shehba region lead hundreds of villages to be evacuated as the Turkish state makes efforts to expand its invasion domination through FSA groups. By using heavy weaponry and provoking the Syrian peoples, Turkey seeks to revive an Ottoman state stretching from Efrîn to Aleppo. They failed in Aleppo before and retry now invasion plans on Northern Syria. The plans of the Turkish state are multi-directional and include a siege on Efrîn for an attack over the Shehba region to fulfill their dreams for Aleppo. Turkey is awaiting an invasion visa from Russia and regional forces. Kurds in Rojava are mounting resistance in all areas amid a policy of forced demographic changes. YPG/YPJ forces are on full alert and hundreds of fighters pledge to end the threat of invasion once and for all. The Rojava Revolution keeps writing the history of resistance and freedom of peoples and women, resisting against all kinds of brutality. A process for the protection social values and ending the ISIS terror in Syria is taking place in Raqqa at the moment.”

“WOMEN'S FRONT GROWS”

Regarding the defense front formed by hundreds of women, Commander Efrîn said;

“The freedom resistance of women and Syrian peoples is growing in Shehba. Massacres by ISIS gangs and their supporters cannot be overlooked anymore. The Rojava Revolution itself is a pursuit of a new identity and ideology to resist and lead a free life. Kurdish, Arab and Turkmen women stand shoulder to shoulder in Shehba and they are leading all spheres of life from the protection of borders to social activities. Women in Rojava have proved victorious in all spheres with an awareness of self-defense."

Shehba Women's Defense Front commander Sema Efrîn concluded by saying: "We will mount resistance against the occupants and Turkish gangs. We are children of this people, and this land belongs to us."
