Seventy-two years olf Fatima Dinler, who was handed a prison sentence at the trial she faced for allegedly 'violating the Law on Assembly and Demonstration', in Mardin's Derik district, was released on Monday.
Dinler had been taken into custody after casting her vote on Sunday. The woman, who learned that she had been sentenced to 10 months in prison, was later arrested and sent to Diyarbakir E Type Closed Prison.
Fatma Dinler suffers from diabetes, heart and blood pressure. The authorities finally converted the prison sentence to a fine.
