The Zîlan Women's Festival is preparing to bring the voices, words, and resistance of women to the heart of London in its 20th year.

The Zilan Women's Festival, held annually in London, is taking place for the 20th time this year, celebrating women's solidarity and the struggle for freedom.

Organized by the Jiyan Women's Council, the festival will host participants in a two-day rich program on June 14-15. This year's slogan is “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi for the Construction of a Democratic Society!”

On June 14, the first day of the festival, a panel discussion titled “From Jin Jiyan Azadî to a Democratic Society Model: A New Life with Women's Freedom” will take place at 1:00 p.m.

The panel discussion will take place at the Kurdish Community Centre (11 Portland Gardens, Harringay, London N4 1HU) and will feature DEM Party Amed (tr: Diyarbakır) MP Adalet Kaya, UK Labour Party MP Feryal Clark, and numerous women speakers. The panel will discuss the model of democratic society from the perspective of women's freedom.

The second day of the festival, June 15, will feature a major gathering. Starting at 1:00 p.m. at Bull Lane Playing Fields (Allied House, 14 Bull Ln, London N18 1SX), the event will feature a music stage filled with powerful female voices. Zînê Botanî, Gülseven Medar, Suna Alan, Zeyno Durar, and Burcu Aytaç are just some of the artists who will take the stage. The festival program will also include folk dances, davul-zurna performances, local food and clothing stalls, and special activities for children.

In a statement ahead of the festival, the Jiyan Women's Council appealed to all women and said: “This year, we will come together under the slogan ‘With ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadî, we are marching toward a women's revolution!’ We will enhance the resistance with our songs and slogans. This is not just an event; it is a gathering to grow stronger, increase solidarity, and continue the struggle together.”
