2 HPC-Jin members martyred in Turkish attack in Qerekozak

HPC-JIN announced that two of its members, one Arab and one Kurdish, were martyred on the same front in northern and eastern Syria in an attack by the Turkish state.

The North and East SyriaN Social Defence Forces-Women (HPC-Jin) announced that two of its members were martyred in an attack of the occupying Turkish state in North and East Syria. According to the statement by HPC-Jin, two of its members, Îman from the Arab community and Aisha from the Kurdish community, were martyred in an aerial attack against the Qerekozak bridge on 8 December 2024.

The statement said: “At a time when we, as the peoples of North and East Syria, are organising our strength, defence and vital means, the occupying Turkish state and ISIS gangs have once again continued their attacks on the existence and will of the people. Today, the occupying and genocidal Turkish state, through its gangs, massacres dozens of women, children, young and old people of all ages in our regions every day with brutal methods, displaces them and bombs their homes.

The war waged by the Turkish state today against our region and our Kurdish and Arab people has no moral element. This is clearly genocide, a war crime and must be tried in international courts. The murderer and liar Erdoğan and his cabinet are giving fabricated information to the world public opinion with the lie of ‘terrorism’, which is exactly the opposite situation on the ground. On this basis, as HPC-JIN, we call on all legal and human rights institutions to see the facts in our regions and to take action to hold the Turkish state accountable in international courts for its genocidal war against the Kurdish and Arab peoples. Women and children are the biggest victims of the oppression of the Turkish state.

Against the fascist and brutal attacks of the Turkish state and its gangs, our people are putting up historic resistance on the basis of legitimate defence. HPC-JIN also takes its place in the emplacements of resistance of honour as the self-defence force of women and society against these occupation attacks. Our comrades Îman and Ayşe, one of our women's defence forces, defended their society until the last moment in the resistance positions in Manbij and fell as martyrs on 8 December 2024 in the village of Qereqozax in an armed drone attack by the occupying Turkish state.

Our comrade Îman from the Arab community was a mother of 4 children and was one of the commanders of the Social Defence Forces. She was known among her friends as a self-sacrificing, humble, labourer and a mother who was a comrade of hard times. Our comrade, who developed herself under the leadership of women, was educated and raised awareness of her own society with this knowledge. When the enemy attacked Manbij and the war intensified, when her children called her crying, our comrade Îman explained the situation to them in a beautiful language and told them that she and her friends should defend their land. With this determination, Commander Îman heroically resisted in the vicinity of the Qereqozax bridge and was martyred in an air attack by the occupying Turkish state.

Comrade Ayşe, a young child of Kurdish people, came from Lebanon and started living in Manbij. Although it had not been long since she arrived in Manbij, she visited all the institutions in the city with her curiosity, enthusiasm and excitement. She won a place in everyone's hearts with her modesty, cheerfulness and stance. In the HPC, our comrade Ayşe became a recognised fighter of the Revolutionary People's War. She was a pioneer who gathered Circassian, Arab and Kurdish girls around her in the hometown of Martyr Ebû Leyla and Koçerîn and organised them with the idea of women's liberation.

Our comrade Ayşe took up arms at the height of the war in Manbij and ran to the battle positions with the determination to defend the society. Comrade Ayşe, who encouraged everyone, was martyred on 8 December 2024 on the Qereqozax bridge together with the vanguard commander Comrade Îman, in the attack of the occupying Turkish state.

As HPC-JIN, we express our condolences to the families of our comrades Martyr Îman and Martyr Ayşe, and we reiterate our promise that we will realise and protect their dream of the Women's Freedom Revolution and the construction of a democratic society. They will always illuminate our path in this honourable march.”
