YPG (People’s Defense Units) and YPJ (Women’s Defense Units) fighters spoke to the ANF and expressed their protest against the Turkish state’s invasion attacks on Afrin.

Beritan Qamişlo:

"As the YPJ, we played our role in the front lines in the Deir ez-Zor operation. Wherever it’s necessary, we are ready to go, the enemy can’t intimidate us in any way. The Turkish state is now attacking Afrin. But they should know that however much they pursue us, however violent their attacks get, our resistance will increase double that. We are dealing the final blows to ISIS here. That is why Erdoğan is attacking the people of Afrin. But the people there from the young to the old are all up in arms and resisting. Our people should keep trusting us, we as the YPG and YPJ will resist stronger against all attacks for as long as we live, and we will protect our people. The Kurdish people will prevail.”

Murat Öznut:

"We broke the gangs in Raqqa. We will end them in Deir ez-Zor. But that is why the Turkish state can’t stomach the defeat of ISIS. That is why they attack. But in any case we will push back this attack as well.

We have liberated Herekol and Raqqa. Now we are in Deir ez-Zor. The Turkish state can’t stomach the defeat of these gangs, but we will fight against them in any way and we will prevail.”

Didar Qamişlo:

"As the YPJ, we participated in the Deir ez-Zor operation. We participated in the Raqqa operation and liberated it. Everybody said we couldn’t take Raqqa, but we did. And we will take Deir ez-Zor too. What is important to us i the victory. We are ready to go to Afrin. We are ready for any place. Whether it is our own city or another people’s city, it doesn’t make a difference.”

Canşêr Qamişlo:

"We have been in the Deir ez-Zor operation for a long tie. We have achieved great advances. The gangs will end here. Erdoğan can’t stomach this, that is why he attacks Afrin. We are prepared to go to Afrin and anywhere else.
