Turkish army bombs historical village in Afrin’s Sherawa district

Turkish troops shelled Berade village in Afrin’s Sherawa district Wednesday evening.

On the 61st day of invasion attacks against Afrin, the Turkish army and allied gangs bombed Berade village in Afrin’s Sherawa district Wednesday evening.

The village is also witnessing fierce clashes between YPG/YPJ forces and the Turkish army, allied jihadist gangs.

The historic Berade village houses an ancient church and a number of historical artifacts from Roman period. Reports suggest that the church was demolished as a result of attacks.

Targeting the historical and cultural heritage of Afrin, the invading Turkish army had razed the historic Ayn Dara village to the ground with aerial bombardments before.
