PYD forum on the Rojava Revolution

The PYD has organised a forum to mark the anniversary of the Rojava Revolution.

The Democratic Union Party (PYD) organized a forum with the slogan “July 19 is the revolution for freedom and democratic change" to mark the anniversary of the Rojava Revolution.

The forum was held in Zana Hall in Qamishlo and saw the participation of the political party representatives in the region and people.

The PYD co-presidency advisor, Ciwan Mistefa, who made evaluations on politics and community topics, stated that with the July 19 Revolution the people broke the dominant mindset and opened the path to freedom.

Mistefa added that with this revolution, which is based on the democratic nation, the people took place in the established autonomous administrations.

PYD co-chair Şahoz Hesen emphasized that the Kurdish people were faced with the policies of destruction and denial before the revolution and that the revolution provided Kurds with a free identity.

Common responsibility

YPG official spokesperson, Nuri Mahmoud, said that hard work has been done with the revolution for the establishment of legitimate defense forces and community defense units.

Saying that the established military forces embraced all the peoples of the region, Mahmoud emphasized that Northern Syria was liberated from the invaders by the common resistance of the people.

Mahmoud, who also drew attention to what is happening in Afrin, said that the resistance is continuing.

PYD Assembly member Welîda Hesen stressed that the revolution was carried out under the leadership of women and that great achievements were reached under such a leadership in terms of the role of women and young people in the revolution.

Hesen voiced that women, along with the revolution, raised the struggle against the patriarchal mind.
