MSD (Syrian Democratic Council) Presidential Council Member Hikmet Hebib spoke to ANHA about the Turkish state’s threats of invasion and attacks on Afrin and stated that Erdoğan’s Syrian policies have failed after the victories of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the liberation of Raqqa and the implementation of the democratic project in Northern Syria.

Regarding the activity of the Turkish army on the Afrin border, Hebib said: “The invading Turkish army is targeting Afrin, where terrorist groups failed to enter due to the will of the people. The Turkish state is violating international law with these practices.”

“THE WAR IN THE REGION WILL SPREAD TO TURKEY”

Hebib stated that Erdoğan wants to revive the Ottoman era and invade new areas like Bab and Jarablus with his attacks on the region and added: “Northern Syrian forces have saved the region from terror, civilian and military institutions have been formed. They will defend the region by resisting the Turkish state’s attacks as well. The war the AKP fans in the region will spread to Turkey too.”

“OUR STRENGTH IS THE WILL OF OUR PEOPLE”

Hebib said the Northern Syrian forces will defend the region and continued: “We have promised our martyrs that we will protect the gains they made with their blood. We will not let Erdoğan invade our lands. Our strength comes from the will of our heroic people.”
