Gerry Adams pledges support to International Tribunal on Turkey

Former leader of Sinn Fein, Gerry Adams pledged his support for a symbolic International Tribunal where Turkish officials will be tried for their actions against the Kurdish people.
Adams released a video message to support the tribunal and said: “I am sending you a message of support from Ireland on behalf of myself and of Sinn Fein. It is support for the permanent tribunal into relationships between the Turkish government and the Kurds – and there have been serious allegations of violations of international law by the Turkish government and its agents and agencies in their dealings with the Kurdish people. So I applaud the efforts to legally explore those allegations to legally hold the Turkish Government to account and I wish you well.”
The International Tribunal will be a symbolic court and will investigate the violations of international law by Turkish state in Afrin. Supported by 40 international institution and 300 individuals the tribunal will start on 15 March and continue for two days. Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan is the lead suspect in the case.
