Attacks on Efrîn repelled, 35 gang members killed

YPG fighters repelled the attacks of Al-Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham gangs on Efrîn Canton of Rojava, as result of which 35 gang members were killed.

Jabhat al-Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham gangs shelled villages in Efrîn's Sherawa district with missiles and heavy weaponry yesterday. YPG/YPJ fighters responded to the attacks and repelled them.

Jabhat al-Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham gang groups are launching intensified attacks on Efrîn's villages from the Semane Fortress over the past one week, and dispatching ammunition to the region for further attacks on the canton. Attacks over the past week targeted Basûfanê, Bashmire, Birc Silêman and Beiyê Fafirtîn villages in Sherawa district and Celeme, Martyr Şilan and Baz hills in Cindêrise district.

The bombardments also caused material damage in civilian settlements, and left a 2-hectare wheat field in Basûfanê village burned.

YPG/YPJ fighters retaliated the attacks, as result of which 35 gang members were killed and a large number of arms and large quantities of ammunition was seized from the gangs.
