TEV-DEM calls on international community to protest Turkish attacks in Afrin

TEV-DEM said that the Turkish state is still committing crimes against people immigrating from Afrin, and the international community remains silent against these attacks.

TEV-DEM issued a written press release to mark the 3rd anniversary of the occupation of Afrin by the Turkish state and its mercenaries.

The statement underlined that Afrin was occupied by an international conspiracy and said: "The Turkish state attacked Afrin brutally with 72 planes. The Turkish state shattered the territorial integrity of Syria. Again, the Turkish state aims at destroying the peace and security of the people of the region. It violates international laws. The Turkish state committed these crimes within the framework of the Misak-ı Milli, National Pact.

The statement said that Afrin residents resisted NATO's second biggest force for 58 days and added: "This is why the resistance of the people of Afrin was named Epochal Resistance." The statement continued: “Turkish state has carried out a genocide in the region. Now it attacks the people of Afrin who migrated to Shehba. While the surrounding area of Shehba is being under the embargo imposed by the Damascus government, the Turkish state also attacks the region. As long as the international community remains silent, the Damascus government and the Turkish state will continue to commit crimes."

TEV-DEM called on the international community and human rights organizations to take a stand against the crimes carried out by the Turkish state.
