The Autonomous Administration of Al-Jazira region condemned the Turkish drone attack which targeted a car on the international road, stressing that "this assault is a continuation of Turkish criminal approach against North-East Syria components."

The Democratic Autonomous Administration in Al-Jazira region issued a statement about Friday’s Turkish drone attack which resulted in martyrdom of a citizen and injury of two others, one of whom is the Kurdish poet, Farhad Mardi.

The statement read:

"As part of Turkey’s continuous targeting of our areas in North and East Syria, and its series of criminal acts, Turkish UAV targeted the convoys of New Year celebrations (Akito Day) and a car of Self-Defense Forces, in conjunction with Turkish bombing on the Ain Issa countryside.

This terrorism practiced by the Turkish occupation is a continuation of its policies in striking security and stability in North-East Syria.

We in the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Jazira region, extend our condolences to the martyr's family and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.

We call on the international community and the guarantor powers, America and Russia, to break the silence and take decisive positions to deter the Turkish occupation from carrying out its terrorist acts, and call on our people, for more cohesion and resistance in the face of occupation and terrorism.”
