The Turkish state's century-long burning and destruction policy against the nature of Kurdistan continues unabated.
The Turkish state has been pursuing special war policies for years, and is attacking society, nature and all living things in the lands of Kurdistan.
The intensive use of chemical weapons, especially in the invasion operation launched against the Medya Defense Areas, is damaging the environment in Kurdistan. Although the chemical weapons used by the fascist Turkish state are prohibited by international agreements, states turn a blind eye to the burning and the plundering of the lands of Kurdistan due to their interests.
One of the places where hundreds of trees were burned and uprooted as a result of the bombardments is the Sergelê area.
Journalist Çınar Göktaş documented the serious damage caused to the environment by the heavy bombardments carried out by the Turkish army in the Sergelê Resistance Area of the Medya Defense Areas. The Turkish state is burning forests in Sergelê, on the one hand, to destroy the guerrillas’ areas, and on the other hand, to build outposts. The army cuts down and burns centuries-old trees in the Sergelê area.
