Tribute to 183 fighters martyred in Turkish and ISIS attacks in October

183 YPG/YPJ, SDF fighters who fell in the month of October between 2013 and 2022 were commemorated in Hesekê.

The Hesekê Canton Council of Martyrs’ Families organized a commemoration event for 183 fighters who fell in the attacks of the Turkish state and ISIS mercenaries in the month of October between 2013 and 2022.

The commemoration for fighters of the YPG/YPJ (People’s/Women’s Defense Units) and SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) was attended by families of fallen fighters, members of the Council of Martyrs’ Families and locals.

Paying tribute to the martyrs, Mehmûd Cewad, member of Hesekê Canton Council of Martyrs’ Families, said, “The martyrs cleared the way to freedom to secure the lives of North and East Syrian people.”

Speaking after, another member of the Council, Hemîd Hisên, said, “We promise our martyrs that we will follow in their footsteps to the last drop of blood and keep our struggle going until North-East Syria is liberated.”
