In a significant show of unity, tribal clans across Raqqa, Tabqa, and Deir ez-Zor have released statements reaffirming their solidarity with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the face of the Syrian regime’s attempts at sedition. The declarations come following foiled repeated attacks in the Deir ez-Zor region.
The al-Waldeh clan played a pivotal role in this unified stance, hosting a tribal gathering in Raqqa City. Sheiks and tribal dignitaries from various clans in Raqqa, Tabqa, and other regions of north and eastern Syria attended the event, consolidating their support for the SDF.
The situation in Deir ez-Zor, marked by repeated failed attacks and infiltration by the Syrian regime mercenaries, prompted the al-Agaidat tribe and its affiliated clans, notably al-Bakeir and al-Buchamil, to issue a resolute statement. The al-Bakeir clan expressed its unequivocal support for the SDF against the aggressions of the Syrian regime mercenaries targeting the security and stability of their regions.
In another statement, the al-Buchamil clan vehemently refuted the Syrian regime’s claims of a “Tribal Army” fighting against the SDF. Instead, they asserted that all tribes in Deir ez-Zor stand united with the SDF. Members of these tribes actively cooperate with the SDF to confront Syrian regime mercenaries, just like their stand with the SDF during the defeat of ISIS.
The tribal alliances in Raqqa, Tabqa, and Deir ez-Zor underscore their ultimate stand with the SDF against the Syrian regime’s attempts to sow discord and destabilize the region.
