In a written statement, the Communist Party of Turkey/Marxist–Leninist (TKP-ML TIKKO) said, "On the 48th anniversary of his immortalization, TKP-ML TIKKO fighters carried out a sniper action against the invading Turkish forces in Rojava to commemorate the communist leader İbrahim Kaypakkaya."

It was stated that the action was carried out against Turkish forces positioned in the village of Menax in Zirgan.

"With the action we have carried out today to commemorate Ibrahim Kaypakkaya, the source of our courage, we want to announce that we will clear Rojava of the invaders and destroy fascism with the courage we take from our leader and our immortals," TKP-ML TIKKO statement said.
