Thousands rally for Öcalan in North and East Syria

Demonstrations were organised throughout North and East Syria demanding news about the situation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

QAMISHLO

Religious representatives, thousands of members of Arab, Kurdish, Syriac people joined the demonstration for Öcalan in Qamishlo.

TIRBESPIYÊ

Many imams gathered in front of the Imam Botî Mosque after Friday prayers in Tirbespiyê, Qamishlo. Many people supported the imams. Making a speech during the action, Islamic Community Congress Member Sîrac Mihemed said: "Leader Abdullah Öcalan has been in isolation, something against international law. The isolation imposed has no place in any religion or belief. We call on the UN and human rights institutions not to remain silent about it."

ALEPPO

Thousands of people attended the march in the neighborhood of Şêxmeqsûd in Aleppo. The activists gathered under the slogan "Our Leadership is Our Life".

GIRKÊ LEGÊ

A march was held in Girkê Legê with the participation of hundreds of people. Speaking at the rally Democratic Union Party (PYD) Girkê Legê district co-chair Fûad Sadî stressed that they will take action until information about Öcalan's health conditions is received.

DÊRIK

Thousands of different people and beliefs gathered at Martyr Bawer Square in Dêrik to join the march for Öcalan. At the rally held in front of the PYD building, Democratic Islamic Society Congress Member Subhî Ehmed stated that the fire in İmralı was not accidental and that it was necessary for Öcalan to be able to meet his lawyers.

ÇIL AXA

A press release was made in Çilaxa. Raxib El-Faris, leader of the Zubeyda tribe, read the statement. Saying that the Turkish state has tried every way to break the people's connection with Öcalan, El-Faris emphasized that all attempts have been spoiled by the people living with Öcalan's philosophy.

MANBIJ

Thousands of people took to the streets in Manbij. Mihemed Ridwan Cemal, Member of the Martyrs' Families Assembly read the statement emphasising that the practices of the Turkish government are terrorist practices. 

HESEKÊ

A march organised by the Social Defense Forces (HPC) and Kongra Star was held in Hesekê. The march turned into a rally in front of the Municipalities and Environment Committee building

HPC Co-chair Luqman Edhem said: "Hundreds of Kurdish youth set their bodies on fire for the freedom of Leader Abdullah Öcalan. It is obvious how much the Kurdish people are connected to Önder Öcalan. We must received information about his health."

DIRBESIYÊ

Thousands of people marched in Dirbesiyê and Zirgan demanding news about the situation of Öcalan after the fire in Imrali. PYD Dirbesiyê co-chair Suleyman Xelîl said: "No one can destroy the philosophy of Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Our people will continue their marches and actions until they get news from Önder Abdullah Öcalan."
