Thousands of people in Derik, Cizîrê Canton bid farewell to martyr Commander Tekîn Goyî (Ismet Ünver). Goyî’s remains were in the Martyr Hogir Hospital in Derik, and were accompanied to the Martyr Xebat Derik Cemetery where he was buried.
Speaking at the funeral, Cizîrê Canton Martyrs’ Families Assembly co-chair Mahsûm Hesen called for the fight against the attacks by the Turkish state to be expanded.
Drawing attention to Tekîn Goyî’s love for his country and people, the philosophy of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and his devotion to the martyrs, Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) executive member Rûken Ehmed said: "Martyr commander Tekîn Goyî wanted a free society that lived together and in security."
Health Board co-chair Dr. Memo Xelîl underlined that they would follow in the steps of martyr Tekîn Goyî until victory.
Following the speeches, Martyr Tekîn Goyî’s martyrdom certificate was read and given to his family.
Martyr Tekîn Goyî was laid to rest with the slogans "Bi can bi xwîn em bi te re ne ey şehîd" and "Şehîd namirin."
Commander Tekîn Goyî, who was working at the Health Office in Qamishlo, was killed in an attack by the Turkish state on 19 August.
