TEV-DEM: International delegation should go to Imralı immediately

TEV-DEM called attention to the allegations regarding the health of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) in North-East Syria made a written statement on rumours that Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan has died in prison.

The statement said, "Despite its unsuccessful policy, the Turkish state continues to commit crimes against all human rights and international laws that secure the rights of political prisoners. The fascist Turkish state's policy towards Leader Abdullah Öcalan in Imrali is hostile and dangerous. The allegations about his situation point to a new conspiracy by the ruling AKP-MHP to break the will of Leader Öcalan. This proves the fact that the fascist alliance of AKP-MHP is going through a major crisis in domestic and foreign politics.”

"We state that Leader Abdullah Öcalan represents the hope and will of the free people", TEV-DEM said.

"Free peoples attach great importance to the health of Leader Öcalan whose ideology is the solution of the crisis in the Turkish state and all the problems experienced in the region. This plan of the Turkish state is also aimed at preventing the solution that will come from İmralı", the statement underlined.

"We call on the Kurdish people and libertarian peoples to support efforts for Öcalan's physical freedom and to put pressure on the international community. The CPT, which is responsible for the status of the Kurdish leader, should go to Imrali within an international delegation of lawyers and visit Öcalan and fellow detainees."
