SOHR reports clash between Turkish-backed factions in Serekaniye

Al-Hamzah Division” arrests member of “Al-Mu’tasem Brigade”, triggering clashes in Serekaniye.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reports that a member of “Al-Mu’tasem Brigade” was injured after being shot by members of “Al-Hamzah Division” during clashes among both Turkish-backed factions in Serekaniye (Ras Al-Ain) city in Heseke (Al-Hasakah) countryside.

According to SOHR, the clashes erupted yesterday evening after “Al-Hamzah Division” had arrested a member of “Al-Mu’tasem Brigade”, while the factions were seen on high alert, as “Al-Hamzah Division” refused to release the member of “Al-Mu’tasem Brigade”.

This development comes as a part of ongoing violations in “Peace Spring” areas, SOHR noted.

On December 19, SOHR activists monitored clashes with machineguns in Serekaniye city among a group of “Jaysh Al-Izza”, after a dispute over revenue-sharing. A member sustained serious injuries during the clashes and he was taken later to the hospital.
