Silava Remedan buried in Dirbêsiyê

Silava Remedan was buried in Dirbêsiyê. She succumbed to the injuries she sustained in a Turkish drone attack on an education center for girls.

Silava Remedan was buried in Dirbêsiyê on Tuesday. She is the fifth young person killed in Turkey's drone attack on a UN-sponsored education center. On 18 August, a Turkish drone attacked girls playing volleyball at an educational center, killing four and injuring eleven. On 1 September, Silava Remedan passed away due to her severe injuries. The body of the 17-year-old was taken in a convoy of vehicles to the Şehîd Rustem Cûdî cemetery.

Silava Remedan was buried with great sympathy in the Şehîd Rustem Cûdî cemetery.

Silava's friend Novîn Afrin said at the funeral: "The attack on our school was a massacre. Children like Silava are murdered in front of the world’s eyes.”

Silava's mother Remziye Remedan said in a speech: “My daughter, today you have started the path to truth. I couldn't say anything, but your smiling face gave me strength. Not a day goes by that I don't smile. I speak on behalf of Silava: I was a student and I took the path of truth. My condolences to all families and loved ones of the fallen.”
