The SDF reported increasingly ongoing attacks by the invading Turkish state and allied mercenaries against North-East Syria.
The Press Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced the outcome of their forces’ response to attacks by the Turkish state and allied mercenaries on February 2.
The SDF statement on Monday includes the following:
“On Sunday, our forces conducted effective and targeted operations in response to the attacks by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries near the Qara Qwzaq Bridge. These operations targeted Turkish occupation bases and mercenary gatherings, though the extent of their losses remains unknown.
Turkish occupation warplanes launched a series of airstrikes targeting multiple villages around the Qara Qwzaq Bridge, south of Kobani, including Ghasaq, Melha, Al-Tineh, and the Serrin Airfield, resulting in material damage. These airstrikes were accompanied by intense artillery shelling, rocket fire, and tank bombardments, indiscriminately striking the villages of Al-Tineh, Ja’dah, Bir Hisso, Dekan, and Melha, as well as the hills of Saifi and Qara Qwzaq.
Additionally, the Turkish occupation warplanes and UCAVs conducted ongoing airstrikes on the vicinity of Tishreen Dam, with heavy artillery shelling on surrounding villages southeast of Manbij. Our fighters responded with precise operations against mercenary gatherings in villages north of the dam, eliminating and injuring several mercenaries, though exact numbers are unconfirmed. Our Martyr Haroun Units successfully targeted a military vehicle and a gathering point belonging to the mercenaries, eliminating two mercenaries and wounding six others.
The Turkish occupation warplanes conducted an airstrike on the village of Sheikh Obeid.
Additionally, our fighters shot down two suicide drones belonging to the mercenaries.
Another Turkish airstrike targeted the village of Al-Shuyoukh Fawqani, west of Kobani, damaging the water station. Throughout yesterday, Turkish occupation warplanes and UCAVs remained active in the region’s airspace.”
