The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said in a statement that "At about midnight this Monday, six of our fighters were martyred due to a terrorist attack by a one-way UAV targeting the training academy in the Al-Omar oil field east of Deir Ezzor."

The statement added: "The one-way UAV originated from the areas controlled by the Syrian regime-backed mercenaries. While we strongly condemn this terrorist act, we assert our right to respond appropriately to the source of the attack."
