SDF responds to ongoing attacks with effective operations

Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continue attacks on Tishreen Dam and Qara Qwzaq villages, facing effective operations from SDF forces.

The Press Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) released a statement providing information about the latest attacks by the Turkish army and allied mercenaries and operations by the Syrian Democratic Forces.

The SDF statement on Wednesday includes the following:

“On the Tishreen Dam front, Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continued the shelling on villages in southeastern Manbij and the dam’s surroundings on Tuesday, using heavy artillery and causing extensive material damage. Meanwhile, Turkish occupation UCAVs maintained constant surveillance over the area. At approximately 12:30 p.m., our forces repelled an attempted mercenary attack on our military positions. Violent clashes ensued, resulting in several mercenary casualties, though their exact numbers remain unconfirmed. Pursuing the mercenaries from three directions, our fighters advanced to several mercenaries’ positions and completely destroyed them, forcing the surviving mercenaries to flee.

Another attack was launched from the Syriatel Hill axis, but our fighters successfully confronted the attackers. Further clashes erupted, leading to the confirmed elimination of seven mercenaries, while the remaining mercenaries fled the battlefield. Our forces subsequently began dismantling mines planted by the mercenaries in the area. The counterattack resulted in the elimination of an entire mercenary unit, while another mercenary group lost contact with their unit, succumbing to confusion and fear under the relentless fire of our fighters. According to initial reports, at least 12 mercenaries were confirmed eliminated or wounded, although the actual number is likely higher. Additionally, several mercenary positions used to launch attacks against our forces were destroyed.

On the Qara Qwzaq front, Turkish occupation and its mercenaries indiscriminately shelled the villages of al-Tina, Ja’dah, Bir Hisso, Ghasq, Dekan, Melha, and al-Sana’a, as well as the Serrin Junction and the Sayfi Hill and Qara Qwzaq Hill. More than 40 artillery, tank, rocket, and mortar shells struck these areas, causing severe material damage to civilian homes and properties.
In response, our forces launched an operation targeting the bases and fortifications of the Turkish occupation west of the Qara Qwzaq Bridge. The extent of enemy losses remains unconfirmed. Meanwhile, Turkish occupation warplanes and UCAVs maintained aerial surveillance over Kobani, Ain Issa, and the surrounding countryside throughout the day.

Our forces’ response to these attacks was an exercise of our legitimate right to self-defense, marking the seventh anniversary of the occupation of Afrin and avenging the massacre in Barakh Botan.”
