SDF fighter Elî Şêr laid to rest in Qamishlo

Elî Şêr (Mihdî Mihê), a Commando Force fighter affiliated with the SDF, was laid to rest in a ceremony held in Qamishlo.

After falling a martyr in Deir ez-Zor on 15 May, Elî Şêr (Mihdî Mihê), a Commando Force fighter affiliated with the SDF, was laid to rest in a ceremony held in Qamishlo.

The ceremony, which was attended by hundreds of citizens, was held at the Martyr Delîl Saroxan Cemetery.

Representatives of civil society, military and security institutions, and relatives of Martyr Elî Şêr attended the funeral. The ceremony began with a minute of silence. Participants carried photographs of the martyr and bid him farewell with slogans.

Şemsîxan Gulo, a member of the Martyrs' Families Assembly, emphasized in his speech at the ceremony that the martyrs were the fundamental force that ensured the security of the people of Northern and Eastern Syria, and called on the people to increase the struggle to protect their gains.

Kawa Gulo, one of the SDF commanders, also offered his condolences to the family of Martyr Elî Şêr and praised his family’s determination to protect the region.

Democratic Islamic Congress member Emar El Qadirî read verses from the Quran regarding the status of martyrdom, stating that martyrs have an important position in societies. At the end of the ceremony, Martyr Elî Şêr’s martyrdom certificate was read and delivered to his family.

The ceremony ended with Elî Şêr’s body being laid to rest amid chants of "Şehîd namirin" (Martyrs never die).
