The Turkish state and its proxies have been continuing their attacks on the Northern Syrian Region uninterruptedly since 8 December 2024. With the fall of the Assad regime, a new process began in Syria, and the shaky regime collapsed. The defense forces withdrew from Til Rifat and Shehba, and the SDF withdrew from Manbij to protect the people from further massacres. However, the Turkish state and its proxies continued their attacks on the people.

The Turkish state launched violent attacks on Manbij, Kobanê and the Tishrin Dam, and occupied Manbij. The resistance dealt heavy blows to the Turkish state and its proxies and suffered several setbacks.

SDF fighters have been holding back the invaders with major and historic resistance for over 40 days. One of the SDF commanders, Baz Qamishlo, who has been involved in the resistance since the beginning of the attacks on Tishrin, told ANF: “As is known, the Turkish state and its proxies have been carrying out major attacks since 8 December 2024. We are defending the region. Turkey and its proxies are attacking Tishrin with all their technology, but we will continue to resist.

We did not allow the occupiers to advance in Tishrin

Commander Baz Qamishlo added: "The Turkish state is carrying out major attacks both by land and by air. But our resistance prevented the occupiers from entering Tishrin. Realizing that it could not advance by land, the Turkish state began to launch air strikes at the end of 15 days of clashes. It continues to attack the dam with heavy weapons from the air and land to this day. Our SDF fighters made a promise to the people. We will protect them."

Martyr Eziz Ereb initiative

Commander Qamishlo spoke about the Martyr Eziz Ereb initiative, and said: "We launched the Martyr Eziz Eren initiative 13 days after the attacks began. Clashes between us and the Turkish state and its proxies had continued without interruption since the day the attacks began. The Turkish state mobilized all its forces to occupy the Tishrin Dam and its villages. We dealt great blows to the gangs in the villages of Seyîdiyê, Xirbet Zimala and Qişle and cleared the villages. This initiative and our determination continue with the support and strength of our people."

Our people are resisting with their fighters

Commander Qamishlo underlined that "the Turkish state has intensified all its attacks to break the will of the people. It attacked civilian convoys. There was great resistance by the people against these attacks. We salute the stance and determination of our people. For ten days, the people of Northern and Eastern Syria have been standing by their fighters and keeping a resistance vigil to defend and protect the dam. Despite the attacks, our people are coming to the dam to stand by us. The attacks against civilians continue. The Turkish state is doing everything it can to break the will and resistance of the people. But it won’t succeed. We are the children of this resisting people. The people in the areas of resistance are our families. We will defend our people until the end. We will not leave the attacks of the gangs and occupiers unanswered. These attacks killed many of our friends. They have blood on their hands, our people and our comrades. We will avenge our people and our martyrs. We are defending a people. We will continue our resistance and our fight. We are fighting on the basis of Leader Ocalan's ideas and thoughts. We will never allow the occupiers to achieve their goal."
