SDF: 12 military personnel and civilians killed by Turkey in Shaddadi countryside

The SDF said Turkey carried out new airstrikes, killing 4 fighters and 8 civilians.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) issued a statement condemning the new Turkish airstrikes targeting multiple areas in the Al-Ruwaished desert, within the Al-Shaddadi area, south of Heseke. The airstrikes happened on Wednesday.

The statement said: "The Turkish occupation warplanes and drones targeted a military position belonging to our forces, in addition to homes housing civilian workers. Furthermore, a civilian vehicle carrying shepherds on the Al-Khorafi road—linking Deir Ezzor and Heseke—was also targeted. In total, more than 16 airstrikes were conducted in the area.

As a result of this treacherous aggression, four of our fighters were killed, along with six civilian workers and two shepherds."

The statement added: "A Turkish drone targeted a house in the village of Sakiro, located in the southwestern countryside of Suluk, causing material damage to civilian property.
These cowardly attacks reflect the brutal and expansionist mentality of the Turkish occupation. We call upon the international community to take a firm stance against these blatant violations of Syrian territory."
