Protest march in Kobanê denounces Turkish attacks

The people of the Euphrates Canton protested against the invading Turkish state's attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria.

The occupying Turkish state bombarded infrastructure facilities in some places in the Cizîr Canton in northern Syria last night. As a result of the bombardment by warplanes, Seîda petrol station in Dêrik city and the electricity station in Bana Şikeftê were damaged. Ewda Petrol Station in Tirbespiyê district also went out of operation as a result of the bombardment, while the blackout also affected the gas pumps in Siwêdiyê station, which provides electricity throughout the Cizîr canton, leading to power outages in Tirbespiyê, Çilaxa district and many villages and towns in Dêrik city.

Following the call of the Autonomous Administration of the Euphrates Canton, hundreds of people took to the streets in Kobanê on Sunday to condemn the attacks of the occupying Turkish state on the infrastructure of Northern and Eastern Syria.

During the march from the Free Women's Square to the Martyr Egîd Square, banners reading "No to the invasion of the Turkish state", "The Turkish state is committing a crime again" and "The Turkish state is targeting our daily needs" were carried.

Speaking at the rally that followed the march, Euphrates Canton Executive Mihemed Shahîn said that the attack is part of the Turkish state's ambition to destroy strategic centres in Syria.

Stating that the Turkish state has committed many crimes by organising attacks on the region since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, Şahin stressed that the attacks will not be able to break the will of the people of the region.
