People of Kobane condemn the silence on war crimes and massacres

Masses took to the streets in Kobane to protest against the continuing invasion and massacre of Turkey in Northern Syria. Four days ago, two civilians were killed in a drone attack.

In Kobane, the capital of the northern Syrian canton, hundreds of people gathered at the Free Woman's Square on Sunday to protest at a rally against the invasion of the self-governing territories of northern and eastern Syria by NATO member Turkey in violation of the international law.

“The international silence towards Turkish state crimes against civilians in northern and eastern Syria confirms their partnership” read one of the banners at the square.

The crowd strongly criticised the international community, which has totally failed in the Syrian question and massacres of the Turkish army and its jihadist auxiliary troops against the civilian population of Rojava. "As long as international forces remain silent in the face of the massacres of civilians, they share responsibility. They must not hide behind the excuse that they did not know. The war is happening before the eyes of the world," they said.

Last Wednesday, two people died in a Turkish drone attack on a civilian vehicle in a village near the city of Girê Spî (Tal Abyad). Three other people who were in the car were injured, some of them seriously.

In a speech at the rally, Enwer Muslim, Co-Chairman of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of the Euphrates Region, pointed out the complicity of European states in the war of aggression. "Europe is aware of the war crimes and other violations of the UN Charter by Turkey and its mercenary factions, but just ignores them.”

The words of the politician were followed by slogans from the crowd. The rally ended after a word of thanks from Muslim to the resistance fighters and the population of the region.
