People of Kobane call for the closure of airspace

The people of Kobane called on international forces to close the airspace and remove the invaders from the region, vowing that they would protect their land to the very end.

People living in the northern Syrian town of Kobane reacted to the threats and attacks of the invading Turkish state that have recently escalated.

“A fierce war is being waged against us. Those states that claim to struggle to end the crisis are pursuing their own interests,” a citizen named Zehra Cezairî from Kobane told ANHA.

“The only way to peace is to close the airspace. Fighter jets of the invading Turkish state are bombing the region, our houses and cars. How safe can we live under Turkish bombings? Nobody accepts the targeted attacks on cities and civilian people,” Cezairî added.

'TURKEY DESTROYS COMMUNITIES'

“These lands belong to us, the peoples. We will protect these lands and will never allow the Turkish state to occupy them,” said a citizen named Îbrahim Mihemed in response to the invasion attempts against the region.

Mihemed said that he was surprised that the international states remained silent towards the Turkish violation of Syrian airspace. “The invading Turkish state has been trying to destroy the identity of the peoples living in these lands. These people did not attack anyone and did not jeopardize any other nation. The only thing the people here want is to live in a peaceful environment.”

'WHATEVER THEY DO, THEY CANNOT ELIMINATE KURDS'

Another citizen named Xelîl Mistefa stressed that the invading Turkish state and the enemy cannot eliminate their will. “The threats of the invaders always continue, and we retaliate with self-defence. Our struggle has taught us a lot about a dignified and peaceful life. However, if they attack us and persecute the people, we will never remain silent. No matter what they do, they will never eliminate the Kurds.”

Mistefa revealed that they do not understand why the international community, which claims to protect human rights, ignores Turkey’s crimes against the people of the region. He added that it is time for international forces to put a limit on the crimes committed by Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan.
