People in North East Syria take to the streets for Öcalan

Peoples took to the fields in many cities of Northern and Eastern Syria demanding for lawyers and family visits with Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan to be granted as soon as possible.

Thousands of people who took to the streets in Northern and Eastern Syria. Demonstrations were held in Girkê Legê, Tirbespiye, Çilaxa, Dêrik, Aleppo and Manbij.

GIRKÊ LEGÊ

Hundreds of people took to the streets in Girkê Legê demanding that the situation of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan be clarified as soon as possible.

A rally was held in the main square. Ahîn Ali, a member of the Young Women's Union, said: "We need to know that the isolation imposed on Leader Öcalan is actually applied to all peoples who demand freedom. For this reason, we call on all human rights organizations in the world to take action against the isolation.”

TIRBESPIYÊ

People gathered also in Tirbespiyê. Speaking after a minute of silence, Tirbespiyê PYD co-chair Hediya Şemo said: “The Turkish state is aggravating the isolation in Imrali every day. This isolation must end as soon as possible. We want Leader Öcalan's physical freedom.”

Speaking on behalf of the Tirbespiyê Assembly, Nuredin Şakir said: “We condemn the isolation imposed upon Leader Öcalan. International human rights organizations and international legal institutions should take responsibility for lifting the isolation on Leader Öcalan."

ÇILAXA

Dozens of people gathered in Çilaxa demanding a visit with Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan be granted.

Feysel Hesen, from the District Council, made a short speech saying that “the isolation imposed by the Turkish state in Imrali does not only target the Kurdish people. It punishes everyone who favours freedom and democracy.”

DÊRIK

Hundreds of people gathered in Martyrs' Square with the same demand in Dêrik. Wesfa Murad, Kongra Star executive, said: “Kurdish people will not be comfortable without knowing the health condition of Leader Öcalan. International institutions have a great responsibility in this regard.”

KOBANÊ

Dozens of young people gathered in Kobanê demanding that the state of health of Abdullah Öcalan be disclosed. Mihemed Mehmud, a member of the Revolutionary Youth Movement, stated that their actions will continue until they get clear information about Abdullah Öcalan.

HALEP

Xemgin Aleppo, member of the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement said: “We condemn the silence of the international community against the conditions of Leader Öcalan. We will resist until we get reliable information about Leader Öcalan. "

MANBIJ

Manbij Revolutionary Youth Assembly and Young Women's Union, gathered for the same purpose, and made a statement made in front of the Revolutionary Youth Center. The statement was read by the co-chair of the Assembly Ehmed El-Cemîlî.

SHEHBA

People in Fafin, Shehba Canton also demonstrated and demanded a lawyer visit to be granted.

The Kurdistan People's Initiative issued a statement and called on the Kurdish people, especially women and youth, to take action against AKP-MHP fascism until a meeting with Abdullah Öcalan is granted.
