Ongoing Turkish attacks destroy houses in Shehba

Turkish attacks on Northern Syria continue without interruption despite the Covid-19 pandemic. Artillery shells have destroyed houses in villages in Shehba region.

The Turkish state’s attacks on northern Syria continue without interruption despite the Covid-19 pandemic. Every day, the Turkish army and its militias fire artillery shells at civilian settlements in the self-governing region. This morning, the villages of Til Qirah, Um al-Hosh and Hirbil were targeted by the invading forces. In the village of Til Qirah near Ehres there was material damage to houses and fields.

One of those villagers affected by the attacks is Cemîle Şêxo, who tells the following: "This morning we heard the sound of rockets of the Turkish army. Due to the blast, the windows of our apartment were shattered. Shrapnel also hit our car." She complains that Turkey is using the coronavirus as an opportunity to expand its attacks without public outrage.

On Tuesday evening, the villages of Semoqa and Ayn Daqna in the canton of Shehba were attacked by the occupying forces.
