No ceasefire with the Turkish state
A ceasefire could not be agreed between Turkey and Northern and Eastern Syria.
A ceasefire could not be agreed between Turkey and Northern and Eastern Syria.
Reports indicate that a planned ceasefire between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Turkey, mediated by the International Coalition, could not be agreed.
The failure to reach an agreement is attributed to Turkey's demands, which included relocating the Suleyman Shah Tomb to its former location and designating a one-square-kilometer area in the region as a military base equipped with heavy weapons. These demands prevented the implementation of the ceasefire.
SDF General Commander Mazlum Abdi had previously announced during a special program on Ronahî TV that, through the mediation of the International Coalition, efforts were underway to reach a ceasefire between the SDF and Turkey, as well as its affiliated paramilitary groups. He also expressed the SDF's willingness to take the necessary steps to facilitate the relocation of the Suleyman Shah Tomb.
