May Day celebrated in Rojava
In North and East Syria, May Day celebrations were held in Siwêdîkê Village of Dêrik and Mizgeft Village of Tirbespiyê with the slogan “Let's Celebrate May Day Together With the Call for Peace and Democratic Society”.

Thousands of people took to the streets to celebrate May Day in North-East Syria.
Hundreds of citizens from Dêrik, Koçerat, Girkê Legê, Çilaxa and Til Koçer gathered in Siwêdîkê, while masses from Qamişlo, Tirbespiyê, Til Hemîs and Amudê gathered in Mizgeft from the early hours of the morning.
Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, Assyrians, Yazidis and other social components participated in the celebrations.
The events started with a moment of silence. The opening speeches made by the preparatory committees emphasized that it was possible to build a democratic society in peace through the common struggle of workers and peoples.
In the event in Siwêdîkê, Cudi Music Group, artists Sumeya Mihemed, Tariq El Hisên, Hesen Dêrik, Waîl Haco, poet Ferhad Merdê and Qereçox Martyrs Dance Group took the stage.
In the village of Mizgeft, Botan, Newroz and Agirî Music Groups, Lawîn Seîd Yûsif, Mehmûd Osman, Mueyed Şiwêş and various dance and theater groups added color to the celebrations.
