Kurdish parties declare support for the agreement between Mazloum Abdi and Ahmed al-Sharaa

The Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party and the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Progressive Party expressed their support for the agreement signed between SDF General Commander Mazloum Abdi and Syria’s Interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa.

The Syrian Kurdish Democratic Progressive Party and the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (YEKITÎ) hailed the agreement signed on March 10 in Damascus between Mazloum Abdi, the Commander General of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), and Ahmed Al-Sharaa, the Interim President of the Damascus government.

In a joint statement, the parties noted that the agreement, which was the result of repeated meetings and negotiations, represented all Syrians.

The statement remarked that the agreement contains very important articles, including the cessation of attacks on the entire Syrian territory, prevention of hate speech and sectarianism, ensuring the safe return of migrants to their lands and acknowledgment of the fact that the Kurds are an authentic part of Syria.

The statement emphasized that the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Progressive Party and the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party fully support the agreement and its contents. The two parties called on all national forces and institutions in Syria to show commitment and make constructive efforts to implement the provisions of the agreement, which allows the construction of a new Syria.
